Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Retail Merchant to assist buyers in monitoring branch inventory, product displays, and sales training. This role focuses on ensuring the sell-out of products, especially slow-moving inventory, by supporting the sales team with effective product knowledge and training.

Additionally, the Retail Merchant will play a key role in roadshow events, contributing to layout planning and promotional strategies to maximize sales performance. A strong understanding of merchandising, inventory management, and retail promotions is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Branch Inventory & Product Display Management

  • Assist buyers in checking and monitoring inventory across all branches to ensure product availability,
  • Identify aging stock and slow-moving products, recommending sales strategies to improve sell-out,
  • Ensure effective in-store product displays that enhance visibility and attract customer attention,
  • Work closely with store teams to maintain merchandising standards and promotional compliance,
  • Conduct store visits to evaluate stock levels, shelf placement, and overall retail presentation.

2. Sales Training & Team Support

  • Conduct product knowledge training for sales teams to help them understand key product features and selling points,
  • Train and guide store staff on effective sales techniques to push specific products,
  • Motivate sales teams to actively promote promotions and new launches,
  • Monitor sales performance per branch, identifying gaps and providing actionable feedback to the team,
  • Ensure that all sales team members are aligned with ongoing promotions and selling strategies.

3. Roadshow & Event Participation

  • Participate in all roadshow events to support product sell-out and brand visibility,
  • Work on event layout planning to optimize customer flow and maximize sales opportunities,
  • Ensure roadshow promotions align with in-store campaigns for consistent branding,
  • Support in event setup, product demonstrations, and customer engagement,
  • Gather real-time feedback on customer preferences and report insights to the team.

4. Sales Strategy & Promotion Planning

  • Work with buyers to propose promotional plans to push aging or slow-moving products,
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to suggest effective pricing and promotions,
  • Assist in developing special promotions, bundles, and discount strategies to drive sales,
  • Ensure sales teams are well-informed and trained on promotional campaigns,
  • Track and analyze promotion performance, providing recommendations for future improvements.

5. Store & Sales Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor sell-out performance across all branches and identify areas for improvement,
  • Provide feedback to buyers on stock replenishment needs and product allocation,
  • Analyze sales data and trends to identify strong and weak-performing SKUs,
  • Work closely with store teams to improve in-store marketing and product positioning,
  • Assist in executing strategies to boost underperforming branches or products.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
