The Senior Engineer, Process reports directly to the Senior Manager, Maintenance Engineering & Integrity while offering support to all business units within the Company.

  • To sustain high production reliability by identifying events and causes of each unplanned deferment.
  • To provide technical advice for maintenance, operation, and project in relation with process flow and any process related engineering calculations etc.
  • Improvise and devise engineering judgement to address design and operational issues for aging asset with varying setbacks such as unavailable design basis etc.
  • Define, research, conceptualize and realize process related improvement projects for Minor Capex.
  • To provide Operations Engineering support to offshore/onshore operations activities on Sabah Assets.
  • Additional responsibilities for this position are varied, ranging from addressing technical issues to organizing execution and logistical support for the Asset.
  • The responsibilities also extend to monitoring operating and maintenance costs, monitoring KPI’s, and, whenever necessary, providing support in development of Tender plans.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Troubleshooting process and utility system issues, conducting process engineering studies/calculations, and recommending solutions in accordance with safety case and company policies.
  • Oversee the performance and integrity of process systems.
  • Manage small studies and projects related to process modifications, equipment upgrades, and performance surveys.
  • Act as the custodian for Process Safety Information (PSI) related to operations under the Process Safety Manual.
  • Stay current with offshore and onshore production technologies and evaluate opportunities to implement new technologies and best practices to enhance the performance and efficiency of North Sabah facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements related to process safety and environmental performance.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to other Process Engineers in the Facilities Engineering team.
  • Conduct frequent visits to offshore/onshore facilities to engage with operations teams, perform surveillance activities, troubleshoot process issues, and identify opportunities for optimization and throughput improvement.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering discipline or any technical discipline or equivalent qualification from recognized universities/academic institution.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) to twenty (20) years of progressive experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, with at least five (5) years in a senior process engineering role within an operating companyKnowledge of onshore/offshore installations or activities related to onshore and offshore facilities, oil production operations and gas processing would be beneficial.
  • Proven experience in process design, gained either as a lead engineer for a contractor or as a client’s process representative
  • Hands-on experience in all aspects of offshore oil production and onshore terminal process engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in managing small to medium-sized projects, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and contractor supervision
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and permitting processes related to offshore/onshore oil and gas operations
