Your Mission

  • To lead the corporate affairs team of SD Guthrie’s Group Communications department and become an integral part of the strategic communications unit for the Group.
  • Key role is to identify and engage with stakeholders through activities which will enhance and positively impact the brand’s reputation.
  • Lead the department’s annual integrated & sustainability reports production team on behalf of the Group, as well as the development of publications.
  • Involved in the development and implementation of the Group’s strategic communications plans; establish and nurture relationships with media, thought leaders and stakeholders to maintain positive perception and media coverage.
  • Draft press releases, statements and articles, as well as serve on the editorial team.
  • Involved in issues identification and responding to emerging priorities and crisis situations affecting the brand’s reputation.
  • Oversee policies, guidelines and procedures related to communications for the Group and department.
  • Manage the Group’s corporate calendar, awards submissions, internal SharePoint portal, communications mailbox, townhall events and regular internal online leadership engagement sessions. Involved in CSR and social impact related programmes, as well as become the main liaison with our foundation.
  • Develop the department’s periodical / project reports for the Board and senior leadership team’s consumption.
  • Manage the department’s risk register - focused on reputational risk analysis, mitigation, and controls.
  • Provide guidance and support to other departments on communication matters. Leverage analytics and metrics to evaluate communication strategies and tactics.
  • Follow industry and financial trends, including relevant global issues in assessing impact of communication plans.
  • Manage a robust and collaborative team; flourish in a goal-oriented team culture.

Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in public relations, mass communications, journalism or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for editorial, data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
  • Minimum of 15 years working experience preferably in a large and listed multinational corporation (>1,000 employees) in Corporate or Strategic Communications / Corporate Affairs / Media Relations / Stakeholder Management roles.
  • Experience in managing a wide range of stakeholders, managing diversity / people / department(s) with multiple timelines / cross functional projects.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent ability to negotiate with suppliers and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop multi-generational teams.
