Job Summary

We are seeking for an Interior Designer to assess our property site conditions and create functional layouts to optimise space usage, while developing detailed design plans, mood boards, and visual representations. In this role, your responsibilities also include selecting materials, collaborating with suppliers and contractors, and overseeing the installation process to ensure designs are executed to high-quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • ⁠Visit site to assess its layout, dimensions, and existing conditions. Take measurements and note architectural features, structural limitations, and potential design opportunities.
  • Design functional layouts that optimise the space usage, ensuring the arrangement of furniture, fixtures, and circulation adheres to any spatial constraints.
  • Develop mood/ sample boards and colour palettes to convey desired aesthetic to client/mall.
  • Produce detailed drawings of floor plans, elevations, and sections.
  • Generate visual representations with lighting to visualize the final design.
  • Select and specify materials, finishes, and furnishings. Have a good understanding of material termination details.
  • Collaborate and liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure the design is executed according to plans and specifications.
  • Source and propose furniture, fixtures, equipment (FF & E), and other design elements. Ensure that all items are ordered, delivered, and installed as planned.
  • Oversee the installation process to ensure that all design elements are installed correctly and meet quality standards from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • At least Diploma in interior design with adequate working experience is acceptable.
  • Preferably 3 - 5 years of interior designing experience.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp (3Ds Max is a plus) and Adobe Creative Suite especially Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Good understanding of materials, finishes, furniture and details.
  • Basic knowledge of construction and carpentry work.
  • Good eye for detail.
  • Experience in project management, tender processes and costing will be an added advantage.
