As a Banking Operations Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role within our Operations team, working closely with the wider Operations team as well as the Client Services, Technology, Product Teams and other teams, to ensure transaction processing, compliance with regulatory requirements, operations efficiency and unparalleled client experience.

The Banking Operations Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing banking and brokerage operations functions, including execution of cash transfers, transactional due diligence, customer due diligence, reporting, audit etc.

The role requires the individual to be a dynamic leader of a small team, constantly think of ways to make complicated tasks simple and more efficient, while keeping a keen eye on the big picture. They grasp complex topics quickly and are adept at thinking on their feet to solve problems in a creative and holistic manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a small team responsible for banking operations, ensuring high performance and efficiency
  • Oversee daily banking operations, including reviewing and approving fund transfers, and monitoring clients' deposits and withdrawals (includes Suspicious Transaction Monitoring) for multiple regions (SG, MY, HK, AE, TH)
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, risk management policies, and internal controls
  • Act as a point of escalation for operational challenges and provide effective solutions
  • Work closely with banking and broker partners, fund managers, payment processors, and internal teams to resolve operational issues
  • Support audits, regulatory reporting, and risk assessments related to banking operations
  • Monitor and respond to alerts triggered by automated banking and brokerage processes, such as reconciliation failures or automation flow disruptions, ensuring timely resolution and minimal operational downtime
  • Monitor operations key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to senior management
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness and scalability. Undertake and participate in ad hoc operations projects to contribute to changes made throughout the organization.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in banking operations, brokerage process, payment processing, or fintech operations
  • Prior experience in one or more of the following areas would be a bonus: banking processes, financial regulations, risk and compliance, treasury, cash operations, trade settlement, audit
  • Proven leadership experience in managing a small to mid-sized team
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English is essential for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders through various channels (phone, email, chat)
  • Exceptional organizational skills, adaptability, and acute attention to detail are paramount
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts swiftly and creatively solve problems on-the-fly
  • A team player, adept at working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, adjusting to changes while maintaining determination and efficiency
  • Proficiency in utilizing a range of technology tools and software relevant to banking operations, demonstrating an aptitude for learning new systems quickly
