Job Title: Director of Sustainability & Environment
Location: Klang Valley
Job Summary:
The Director of Sustainability & Environment will lead the company’s environmental and sustainability strategy, ensuring compliance with regulations, driving sustainable initiatives, and embedding ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles across all business operations. This role requires strategic vision, leadership, and a deep understanding of environmental best practices, regulations, and industry trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sustainability and environmental policies, programs, and strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, standards, and reporting requirements.
- Drive ESG initiatives, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance sustainability efforts.
- Identify opportunities for resource efficiency, waste reduction, carbon footprint reduction, and renewable energy adoption.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into operations, procurement, and supply chain management.
- Lead environmental risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor, measure, and report on sustainability performance, setting benchmarks and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting sustainability.
- Represent the company in sustainability forums, industry groups, and regulatory discussions.
- Foster a culture of environmental responsibility through training, awareness programs, and employee engagement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or related roles, with at least 10 years in a leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, ESG frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies and policies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Experience with sustainability certifications, carbon management, and green building initiatives is a plus.
