1. Menu Planning and Development
- Design and update the menu based on seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and culinary trends.
- Create and test new recipes to ensure variety and creativity in the menu.
- Ensure all dishes align with the restaurant's concept and standards.
2. Kitchen Operations Management
- Supervise daily kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory levels and oversee purchasing of ingredients and supplies to avoid shortages or wastage.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients to meet health and safety standards.
3. Team Management
- Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants.
- Delegate tasks and ensure efficient workflow among team members.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve staff skills and efficiency.
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment in the kitchen.
4. Quality Control
- Oversee food presentation and ensure consistent quality and taste across all dishes.
- Address customer complaints or feedback related to food quality or service.
- Ensure portion control and minimize food waste.
5. Budget and Cost Management
- Monitor food costs and labor expenses to maintain profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Negotiate with suppliers to get the best deals on ingredients and equipment.
6. Health and Safety Compliance
- Ensure the kitchen complies with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and address any issues related to cleanliness or safety.
- Train staff on proper handling of equipment and safety procedures.
7. Leadership and Innovation
- Stay updated with culinary trends and incorporate innovative ideas into the menu.
- Represent the kitchen team in management meetings or discussions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for special events, banquets, or catering requests.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
