1. Machine Setup and Operation
- Set up SMT machines (e.g., pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, reflow ovens) to assemble components onto the circuit board.
- Ensure that components are placed accurately and efficiently, following design specifications.
2. Quality Control
- Inspect soldering quality to ensure proper bonding between components and the board.
- Perform visual inspections or use automated optical inspection (AOI) systems to check for defects or misplacements of components.
3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of SMT equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Troubleshoot issues related to machine malfunctions, component placement problems, or quality issues in the final product.
- Replace parts or components in the machines as needed to ensure optimal functioning.
4. Component Handling
- Handle and prepare SMT components (such as resistors, capacitors, ICs) for placement on the PCB.
- Verify component specifications and ensure that the correct parts are used during the assembly process.
5. Documentation and Reporting
- Keep track of production logs, machine settings, and performance data.
- Document any issues encountered during production, including downtime or defects, and report them to management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge of SMT processes, equipment, and materials.
- Troubleshooting skills for resolving mechanical, electrical, and software issues related to SMT equipment.
- Familiarity with PCB design and layout, as well as the assembly process.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow work instructions.
- Experience with inspection tools like AOI systems and manual visual checks.
