About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented FSQ Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience in food safety and quality assurance within a dynamic environment. You will support the FSQ team in ensuring compliance with quality standards, conducting analyses, and assisting with audits.
Location: Fonterra Susumas, Subang Hitech, Batu 3, Shah Alam.
Duration: 3-6 months (Preferred start date: April 2025)
Monthly Allowance: RM1,000
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the FSQ Manager in Food Safety Quality Management System implementations and practices including food safety elements across all plants to comply with Fonterra and Global Quality and Food Safety requirements as well as local regulations.
- Support activities such as establishment and/ or review of FSQ-related documentation, procedures, new processes, new projects, new product development and/ or trial runs that are introduced which will contribute to Operations excellence.
- Assist FSQ Manager in gap assessment of current practices against Fonterra Global Standards, FSSC22000 requirements as well as regulations of the authorities
- Work with Plant Document Controller to ensure all related documentation of Quality Management Systems for both plants i.e. FSQMS manual, HACCP manual, GMP manual, related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are updated and well maintained for effective Control and Maintenance.
- Support FSQ audits at the plant in the establishment of an audit plan, compile audit findings and track the status of audit findings.
- Support internal plant assessments and audits not limited to internal audits, food security audits, mock recall etc.
- Support activities related to IWS Quality Pillar including Quality Tools establishment and verification activities
- Contribute to continual improvement of the laboratory management system
- To be responsible for handling and managing equipment in the laboratory and highlight to superior for damaged equipment
- To attend QC department meetings and shift meetings to ensure smooth internal communication
What We’re Looking For:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Basic understanding of food safety regulations and quality management systems is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Good communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Only applicants who are completing this internship as part of their university program will be shortlisted.
- Candidates with their own transport are preferred.
