Responsibilities:
The incumbent is responsible to ensure construction works on site is carried out to client's standards, specification and schedule. Its position shall be totally independent from contractor on site and generally be the eyes and ears of the client/consultants for reporting purposes. Below are among the responsibilities of the incumbent:
- Coordinate with M&E consultants and contractors for preparation and interpretation of plans and specifications.
- Ensuring contractors' compliance with contract, plans, specifications, regulations and standards.
- Monitoring all materials going into the project site to ensure that all materials delivered to site are conform to the approved specifications and the projects's inspection test plan.
- Responsible for the inspection of the workmanship and compliance to the method of statement of construction.
- Monitoring and ensuring the construction works' schedules are maintained.
- Keeping and update detailed site records of various aspects of works regularly - the progress and delays if any, manpower at site, weather condition, drawing received, instruction from superintendent office, etc.
- Establishing an appropriate working relationship with contractor's staff, carried out daily site inspection, insisting on corrections from contractor for non-quality works done on site and able work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Attending various meetings which include but not limited to site meetings, technical meetings, sub-contractor meetings, etc and coordinating all site issues and highlighting construction status to superior / consultants.
- To regularly report to relevant superiors on the progress of the works and the problem areas encountered especially in respect of defective, outstanding or non-conforming works or delayed works.
- Upon completion of work, to carry out final inspection and handovers including ensuring that all as built drawings are prepared and a copy kept with relevant superiors prior to issuance of certificate of practical completion.
- Filing of all correspondence and documents in a systematic and organized manner.
- Undertakes any ad-hoc tasks as and when required.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Possess at least 8 years of relevant experience specializing in commercial and housing projects construction/development.
- Applicants must be willing to work in Project Site at Kundang, Rawang.
- Candidate must have wide understanding of the building industry, including knowledge of materials, tradces, methods and legal requirements and be physically fit.
- Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
- Ability to set priority, respond quickly to issues that arise and supervise contractors.
- Knowledge of health, safety, security and environmental on site.
- Ability to read and interpret drawing plans and specifications.
- Has strong analytical skills, resourceful, proactive and has sense of responsibilities.
- Good command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to speak in Mandarin is an added advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
