Role Purpose

The Head of Commercial & Finance is accountable for driving MAB Academy's (MABA) commercial success and financial sustainability. This role leads revenue generation, market expansion, and strategic partnerships to position MABA as a leader in aviation training and development. It ensures robust financial planning, budgeting, and compliance while identifying new revenue streams and business opportunities. With a strong focus on growth, profitability, and market leadership, this role is critical in shaping MABA's long-term success.

Key Accountability

  • Lead the formulation, evaluation and drive the long-term business objectives, plans and strategies.
  • Lead and oversee MAB Academy's products and services, managing its P&L and ensuring long-term sustainability and growth.
  • Develop framework for growth and profitability and drive the implementation of business development objectives through building and maintaining a high-performing sales & marketing team.
  • Support the Management team in developing the Key Performance Indicators/ performance metrics to facilitate the monitoring of MAB Academy's performance.
  • Strategize, lead, drive, and monitor all projects/initiatives to ensure performance delivery and standards.
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue, optimize profits, and attract new customers.
  • Lead the marketing and communications team to enhance brand visibility, generate sales leads, and attract customers.
  • Drive revenue growth through dynamic pricing, new market expansion, and customer experience enhancement.
  • Establish a customer experience strategy that fosters loyalty, enhances engagement, and strengthens long-term relationships.
  • Provide insights to leadership to address performance gaps and improve commercial outcomes.
  • Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships with key industry stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage performance data collection, dashboards, and reporting to drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee tracking and reporting of strategic initiatives, ensuring execution, alignment with business goals, and compliance with policies and risk frameworks.
  • Lead and manage partnership agreements and strategic projects.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, cost analyses, and performance metrics to support business objectives.
  • Drive financial process improvements, automation, and digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide team leadership, guidance, and mentorship to foster a high-performance and continuous learning culture.
  • Oversee resource planning to ensure optimal allocation to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with key stakeholders across MAB Academy, MAG and external partners.

Qualifications & Working Experience

Tertiary level or recognized qualification(s) in Business Administration/ Finance/ Accounting/ Management with more than 10 years working experience in strategic planning, business development, business plan.
