Looking for Level 1 – System Engineer who has experience in Unix Environment, Redhat Linux 8, Solaris 11.x

Summary/Objective:

This position provides system support for all UNIX/Linux based software by implementing, monitoring and maintaining systems and application software running under UNIX/Linux. The position also works with software / hardware vendors to provide optimum system performance and availability.

Essential Functions:

Install, configure, and maintain Unix server operating systems and repair server hardware (Oracle Solaris, RHEL 7.x & 8.x Physical & VM).

Deploy, configure, manage, and troubleshoot the following software/hardware - Oracle Solaris, RHEL 7.x & 8.x Physical & VM.

Provide a point of escalation and support to the L1 / L2 Engineers for incidents / problem tickets.

Participates in an On-Call duty rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage for all critical issues.

Perform routine system administration duties.

Monitor servers and troubleshoot issues.

Provide additional support when necessary.

Provide training and technical leadership to junior system administrators.

Produce appropriate documentation for server / project deployment, configuration, and related processes.

Good to have experience in Windows & Vmware.

Must have experience performing Enterprise level project management, implementation, and support. Also, must have strong working & technical knowledge.

Security Management o Oracle Solaris, RHEL 7.x & 8.x Server hardening, security vulnerability assessment and remediation.

Work closely with IT engineers for all project support and implementations.

Drives efficient and effective resolution of problem / incident tickets.

Excellent customer service and experience in a professional service environment, with responsibility for supporting multiple applications.

Must have Good verbal and written communications skills.

Must have very strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Participate in weekly / monthly maintenance activities, as required.

Job Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, advanced / Higher/ Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent.

At least 3 – 5 years of relevant working experience.

Possesses technical knowledge in RHEL 7/8/9.X and Oracle Solaris 11.4, particularly in Control Domain and LDOM concepts, with skills in both software and hardware management.

Experience in Project Management.

Possesses excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Hands-on Oracle products, Solaris and Linux based infrastructure.

Support UNIX/Linux Server based systems, NAS, SAN & backup software and system management agents.

Patch Management, Compliance Management, Configuration Management skills and support BAU as well as Projects.
