SUMMARY

Data Center Facility Manager involves strategic planning, implementing data center roadmaps, and managing daily operations, including HVAC, electrical, and security systems. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Strategic Planning and Roadmap Implementation:

  • Plan and implement the Data Centre operations roadmap aligned with the business's long-term vision.
  • Develop and implement solution roadmaps for Data Centre.

Operational Oversight:

  • Manage the daily operations of the data center, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems.
  • Ensure all systems are running efficiently to maintain uptime and meet service level agreements (SLAs).

Performance and Efficiency:

  • Implement a quality improvement process for continuous operational efficiencies and improvements.
  • Ensure uptime of critical infrastructure, including power, cooling, network, and security systems.
  • Responsible for capacity planning to ensure underlying infrastructure meets new project requirements

Policy Development and Enforcement:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement new technologies or system upgrades.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize energy efficiency.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor operations staff, including engineers and technical staff.
  • Developing learning plans for staff skills development

Project Management:

  • Forecast resources based on upcoming projects.
  • Oversee and manage projects related to the expansion, upgrade, and optimization of data center facilities.

Incident and Problem Management:

  • Act as the primary escalation point for operational incidents and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Analyze root causes of incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and maintain incident response and disaster recovery protocols.

Vendor Management:

  • Engage with vendors for procurement of hardware, software, and other infrastructure components.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in data center management, such as CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional) or equivalent.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in data center management with a minimum of 10 years in progressively responsible roles.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial position within a data center environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, generators, UPS systems, and fire suppression systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as Uptime Institute Tier Standards, NFPA, and ASHRAE guidelines.
  • Proficiency in data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools is preferred.
  • Proficient in data center automation and management tools.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.

  • Experience in managing relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
