Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough legal risk assessments for commercializing technology solutions internationally, and provide practical solutions based on market experience.
  • Draft and negotiate legal documents, including product agreements, sales agreements and partnership agreements.
  • Prepare and enhance standardized agreements for products.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including compliance, data privacy, and AML teams, to develop and implement risk mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with internal control, finance, and product departments to create and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Proactively observe market trends and industry practices and advise on risk tolerance levels and provide strategic risk mitigation advice.
Requirements
  • Bachelor or above degree in law.
  • A minimum working experience of 6-8 years PQE.
  • Must have substantial experience in financial services in the region.
  • Preferred: common law legal qualification with top-tiered international law firm training and substantial inhouse experience in financial regulatory businesses; proficient in Mandarin (both spoken and written).
  • Strong regulatory/compliance knowledge and skills, especially in relation to payment regulations in Asia (knowledge in payment regulations in the EU and the US is a plus).
  • Excellent technical, drafting, negotiation and analytical skills together with practical commercial acumen.
  • Must be a team-player, highly motivated self-starter and eager learner with excellent project management skills.
  • Demonstrable advocacy and oral and written communication skills, including the ability to influence different business functions.
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Traveling to Mainland China and Asia to be expected.
