The Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves analyzing production workflows, implementing process improvements, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, analyze, and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies, reducing waste, cycle time, and production costs.
- Work closely with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to introduce and validate new processes and technologies.
- Provide technical support to production teams, ensuring smooth and stable operations.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and control plans.
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment, tools, and automation technologies to enhance process capabilities.
- Work with equipment vendors and suppliers to ensure proper installation, calibration, and maintenance.
- Drive initiatives to automate manual processes and integrate Industry 4.0 technologies where applicable.
- Ensure all processes comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant industry standards.
- Support quality assurance initiatives, including statistical process control (SPC), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and process validation.
- Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
- Lead or support process improvement projects, including new product introduction (NPI) and transfer-to-production activities.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of products.
- Train and guide production staff on new processes, procedures, and best practices.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing, or electronics assembly.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing (PCB assembly, SMT, wave soldering, etc.) is highly preferred.
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Hands-on experience
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IPC standards, and RoHS compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate across departments.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: Up to RM5,500.00 per month
