What do I need?

To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to have:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in project management, renewable energy, rural development, infrastructure projects, or related fields.
  • Candidates with academic backgrounds in geology, environmental science, engineering, or other relevant fields are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working in remote areas or with indigenous communities is an advantage.
  • Candidates with PALAPES (Pasukan Latihan Pegawai Simpanan) training, and/or active membership in the Scouts Association of Malaysia, and/or equivalent leadership training are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Passion and commitment for serving underserved communities;
  • Strong leadership abilities, particularly in field operations.
  • Experience staying in jungle environments for 3-5 days at a time
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, make critical decisions, and manage conflict effectively
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments with varying weather conditions (e.g., heat, rain, no internet access)

What will I do?

In this role you will:

Project Implementation & Management

  • Lead the execution of renewable energy projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
  • Oversee logistics, including transportation, materials, and team coordination for project deployments.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure installation and implementation meet project standards.
  • Identify and address potential challenges to ensure smooth project execution.

Stakeholder Engagement & Community Coordination

  • Engage and build positive relationships with Orang Asli communities and local workforce.
  • Support training and coordination of local teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills and understanding.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community engagement, ensuring clear and respectful communication.

Operational Support & Reporting

  • Maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Monitor and track project application statuses, providing updates to the Green Impact Manager and stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal and external parties.

Leadership & Problem-Solving

  • Provide guidance and leadership in remote settings, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Make well-considered decisions in dynamic environments, maintaining a calm and composed approach.
  • Adapt to changing conditions, such as weather and logistical challenges, while ensuring team safety and project continuity.
