Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on stainless steel conveyor components.
  • Ensure sanitary, dairy-grade finishes, including polishing as per industry standards.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols to fabricate and assemble conveyor Screws, Outer body, guards, and components.
  • Maintain consistent weld bead quality, avoiding contamination, cracks, and defects.
  • Conduct grinding, blending, and polishing to achieve a smooth, food-safe finish free of pits and craters.
  • Work with thin-gauge stainless steel (1.6 mm to 3mm thickness) without distortion.
  • Perform fit-up, tack welding, and full penetration welds as required.
  • Ensure compliance with food and beverage industry welding standards, including 3A
  • Sanitary Standards and AWS D18.1 guidelines.
  • Inspect welds for structural integrity, leaks, and surface finish quality.
  • Operate welding and finishing equipment such as grinders, sanders, and polishing tools.
  • Follow strict hygiene and safety regulations in line with food-grade manufacturing.
  • Maintain welding machines, tools, and workstations in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and eiciently.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time taken for assembly tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work closely with other team members, supervisors, and departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in welding or related fields is a plus.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in TIG & MIG welding with stainless steel (preferably in food/dairy industry).
  • Strong understanding of welding techniques for sanitary applications.
  • Ability to produce high-quality welds with minimal distortion on thin-gauge stainless steel.
  • Familiarity with grinding, polishing, and passivation for dairy-grade finishing.
  • Knowledge of welding codes and sanitary welding best practices.

Skills:

1. Welding certifications (AWS, ASME, or equivalent).

2. Experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical stainless-steel welding.

3. Knowledge of fabrication techniques and tools.

Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing/production floor with potential exposure to noise, dust, and rotating machinery testing.
  • Working Hours: Full-time position with potential for extended work as needed.

Safety Equipment:

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
