Job Summary
The Crane Lifting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all lifting operations on-site to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising lifting activities to minimize risks and maintain smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all lifting activities to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Ensure that lifting operations comply with relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Conduct pre-lift meetings and toolbox talks to communicate lifting plans and safety precautions to the team.
- Assess risks and implement appropriate control measures before lifting operations begin.
- Ensure all lifting equipment and accessories are properly inspected, maintained, and certified for use.
- Monitor crane operators, riggers, and other personnel to ensure they adhere to safety guidelines.
- Investigate and report any lifting-related incidents, accidents, or near misses.
- Ensure cranes, lifting gear, and rigging equipment are suitable for the task and properly rated.
- Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, signalmen, and other relevant personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Verify that all personnel involved in lifting operations are competent, trained, and certified.
- Maintain accurate records of lifting operations, equipment inspections, and personnel certifications.
- Prepare and submit reports on lifting activities, safety observations, and incidents.
- Ensure compliance with site-specific lifting plans and method statements.
- Act as the key point of contact between project managers, site supervisors, and lifting personnel.
- Provide guidance and technical support on lifting operations to ensure best practices are followed.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certification as a Lifting Supervisor (e.g., recognized by local authorities or safety bodies).
- Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging practices, and safety regulations.
- Experience working in construction, oil & gas, marine, or heavy industry lifting operations.
- Ability to read and interpret lifting plans, load charts, and safety guidelines.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments.
