Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Pace of Play:
- Ensure golfers maintain the proper pace of play to avoid delays on the course.
- Provide gentle reminders to players if they fall behind, encouraging them to keep moving or offer assistance in resolving any issues.
- Enforce Golf Course Rules:
- Ensure all players adhere to the course rules, including dress code, etiquette, and safety regulations.
- Enforce any course-specific guidelines and policies, such as cart usage, behavior, or alcohol consumption.
- Assist Golfers:
- Provide assistance to players on the course, such as answering questions or helping with minor issues (e.g., locating lost balls, providing scorecards).
- Offer general directions and advice about the course layout.
- Ensure Safety:
- Monitor the course for any safety hazards and ensure the safety of players by communicating any dangers (e.g., weather warnings, wildlife).
- Help ensure that golfers understand and adhere to safety measures, such as maintaining proper distance between groups.
- Address Conflicts and Issues:
- Resolve disputes or concerns from golfers, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Handle complaints related to pace of play, course conditions, or golfer behavior.
- Course Maintenance Coordination:
- Report any course maintenance needs, such as damaged equipment, irrigation issues, or hazards, to the appropriate staff.
- Ensure that areas of the course are kept in good condition and notify maintenance teams if needed.
- Event Support (if applicable):
- Assist with the smooth operation of tournaments or special events, including monitoring player behavior and assisting with any logistical needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service or golf-related roles is a plus.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to handle difficult situations, and knowledge of golf etiquette.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to walk or drive the course for extended periods; may require standing for long periods and carrying a radio or other communication device.
- Certification: A general understanding of golf rules and etiquette, golf course operations, or training related to marshal duties may be required.
Work Environment:
- This role is typically performed outdoors, requiring interaction with golfers throughout the day, often in various weather conditions.
- May involve early mornings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the course's schedule and events.
