Presales Technical Consultant
Our client is a fast-growing provider of prefabricated modular solutions for data centers with presence in China, Singapore, Malaysia and ambition expanding their presence in ASEAN, MENA, EU and North America. They are currently seeking for a Technical Presales Expert.
As the Technical Presales Expert, you are responsible for providing technical presales support across SEA, with a particular focus on Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore markets. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in Data Center solutions, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the Southeast Asian market.
*** Willingness to travel extensively throughout Southeast Asia (up to 50%).
Responsibilities
Technical Expertise
- Serve as the technical presales expert for modular data center solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitive offerings, and technological advancements.
Client Engagement
- Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations and demonstrations to potential clients.
- Provide technical guidance during client meetings and site visits.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer requirements and develop tailored solutions.
Solution Design and Proposals
- Create detailed technical proposals and solution designs.
- Support RFP (Request for Proposal), RFI (Request for Information), and RFQ (Request for Quotation) responses with technical content.
Relationship Building
- Build and maintain relationships with key industry partners and stakeholders.
- Provide market intelligence and feedback to product development teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines
- 5+ years of experience in the data center industry
- Proven track record in the Southeast Asian Data Center market
- In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure and technologies
- Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems in mission-critical environments.
- Strong technical acumen and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, client-friendly language
- Collaborative mindset to work closely with sales and product development teams
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic market environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Additional language skills (Mandarin, Thai, Malay etc) will be advantageous
- Professional certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute, CDCP, etc.) will be advantageous
- Experience with modular or prefabricated construction solutions will be advantageous
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Southeast Asian countries will be advantageous
