POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Head of the Technical Advisory Group, the Mechanical Specialist, is a
critical role within our global Data Centre team. This position provides specialised expertise
and support in mechanical systems across our Data Centre facilities worldwide. The
Mechanical Specialist will be responsible for various aspects of HV systems, including design,
installation & maintenance, troubleshooting & repair, system monitoring & optimization,
and emergency response.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mechanical Systems Management: Oversee the design, installation, and
maintenance of mechanical systems within our Data Centre facilities.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Support local site DCO teams and lead troubleshooting
efforts for complex Mechanical systems, identifying and resolving issues promptly to
minimize downtime.
- System Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring tools and processes to
continuously optimize the performance of mechanical systems. Identify areas for
improvement and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response procedures for
mechanical incidents. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and
minimize impact during emergencies.
- Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with internal teams and external
partners to leverage expertise and best practices in mechanical systems. Share
knowledge and provide training to enhance the overall competency of the
organization.
- Global Remit: Support mechanical operations across various regions, with a
particular focus on APAC and wider territories. Adapt strategies and solutions to
meet regional requirements and regulations.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Advanced degree
preferred.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in mechanical systems, preferably in Data Centre or
critical infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, installation practices, and
maintenance procedures.
- Proven track record in troubleshooting complex mechanical systems and
implementing effective solutions.
- Experience in system monitoring and optimization, with proficiency in relevant tools
and technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment, with excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in APAC and other global regions is a plus, demonstrating an
understanding of regional regulatory requirements and operational challenges.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support global projects and initiatives.
