Full Time Counsellor (Chinese Speaking)

Key Responsibilities:
- Therapeutic Sessions: Conduct individual, couples, and group therapy sessions using techniques based on evidence based psychotherapy theories tailored to each client’s needs.
- Client Assessments: Perform comprehensive assessments to understand clients’ mental health needs and craft personalized treatment plans.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention for clients experiencing acute distress or crisis.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other mental health professionals and support staff to ensure holistic care.
- Case Discussions: Participate in regular case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings to refine treatment strategies.
- Workshops and Outreach: Lead mental health workshops and actively participate in community outreach programs to promote mental wellness.
- Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in the mental health field to ensure best practices.
- Mentorship: Provide supervision and mentorship to interns and junior counsellors, fostering a nurturing learning environment.
- Community Engagement: Raise mental health awareness through engaging social media content and community initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in Counselling.
- Valid professional licensure and registration in Malaysia.
- At least 2 years of experience in counselling or psychotherapy.
- Proficient in conducting sessions in Mandarin.
- Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic approaches and techniques.
- Able to meet clients on weekdays evenings and weekends.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with the utmost integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Meet, Calendar) experience with electronic health record systems is a plus.
