Job Summary
As an Operations Executive, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing post-harvest operations. Your role is crucial in ensuring that the processes at SGB and Machine Farms meet the highest quality and efficiency standards. You will manage operational workflows, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and serve as the key point of contact between the post-harvest team, machine farms, and sales teams. Through data analysis and continuous improvements, you will help drive productivity, reduce waste, and ensure cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality & Quantity Assurance:
- Develop, implement, and enforce standardized processes and best practices for post-harvest operations.
- Oversee the entire post-harvest process at SGB & Machine Farms, ensuring that the highest quality and quantity of products are delivered to clients.
- Collaborate with farm teams to optimize production efficiency and output, ensuring smooth workflows.
- Identify opportunities for waste minimization, cost reduction, and improvement of operational efficiency, while maintaining uncompromised quality standards.
2. Point-of-Contact (POC) Role:
- Serve as the main liaison between the SGBL Post-Harvest team, machine farms, and the Sales team to ensure seamless sales delivery.
- Facilitate effective communication across all teams, ensuring smooth information flow between production and sales functions.
- Address and resolve operational challenges in a timely manner, ensuring continuity of workflow and avoiding delays.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address any operational issues, pending items, and ensure resolutions are swiftly implemented.
3. Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct detailed data analysis on operations and sales to identify trends and patterns in client ordering behaviors.
- Leverage data insights to support strategic planning, forecasting, and decision-making processes for optimized operations.
- Regularly generate and present key reports to the management team, highlighting performance, improvements, and areas for optimization.
4. Operations Planning & Improvement:
- Continuously monitor operational processes, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Implement changes to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs, ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging team members to contribute to continuous improvement.
5. Microgreens Production Oversight:
- Oversee the entire production and growth cycle of microgreens, ensuring high standards of quality control throughout cultivation and harvest.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure that microgreens meet the quality standards and are produced efficiently, following best practices.
- Work with farm teams to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of the microgreens production process.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably within the agriculture or food industry.
- Strong background in process optimization, quality control, and data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong communication skills to facilitate smooth coordination between departments and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Prior experience with microgreens production or in the agriculture industry is a plus.
