Job Summary
Perdana University is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Executive to manage the legal affairs of the Group, its subsidiaries, and associates, with a focus on supporting the university’s operations and strategic objectives. The Legal Executive will be responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts, providing legal counsel, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a proactive individual with strong legal expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to safeguard the Group’s interests while supporting its growth in the higher education sector.
Job Requirement:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or an equivalent legal qualification from a recognised institution is essential.
- Admission to the Malaysian Bar or an equivalent professional legal qualification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within a corporate, educational, or group-structured organisation.
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation, including MOUs and MOAs.
- Demonstrated experience in handling legal disputes, arbitration, or litigation, with a track record of managing legal suits in compliance with organisational policies.
- Prior experience providing legal counsel on business operations, compliance, and regulatory matters, ideally within a multi-entity group structure.
- Familiarity with the legal and regulatory framework governing higher education institutions in Malaysia, including liaison with bodies such as the Registrar’s Office.
- Experience working with external law firms, regulatory bodies, or government agencies to obtain legal opinions or manage corporate transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- To prepare, draft, review, vet and negotiate all commercial contracts, agreements, contractual document, litigation letters and other related legal documentation involving the Group, including all memorandums of understanding and memorandums of agreement.
- Handle all legal affairs concerning the Group, its operating businesses and its subsidiaries and associates as to support the legal needs of the businesses.
- To handle legal suits, dispute, arbitration, pertaining to its activities, in compliance with Group criteria and where necessary, seeking external legal advise.
- Provide legal counsel and advice in respect of the business activities and daily operations of the Group to ensure maximum protection of its rights and to maintain its operation within the limits prescribed by law.
- Advise management on the compliance of laws, propose appropriate legal terms and structures for transactions to minimize costs and increase legal protection.
- Ensuring that legal/security documents are consistent with the latest legal developments and keep the management aware of any regulatory issues or constraints that might impact the Group’s business plans and strategies.
- To manage the Group’s relations with external law firms, including coordination of legal review and opinions from external lawyers or regulatory bodies on corporate transactions
- Monitor and manage post-executed agreements, i.e. validity period, extensions prior to expiry dates etc, and ensure safe keep of documents.
- To work closely with all departments, country heads and management team within the Group as to provide correct legal advice by addressing all legal issues.
- To liaise with Registrar Office from Perdana University.
- To carry out any other duties, tasks or assignment which will be directed / assigned to you by the Executive Director and/or such person nominated by the Management companies from time to time.
- To carry out any other duties as directed by the Management or Directors in relation to work related to the other companies or associate companies in the Group.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
