POSITION SUMMARY:

Linen Assistants are responsible for packing and distributing clean linen as well as collecting soiled linen throughout the hospital.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Daily stock count of items in the ward/department to determine requirement as per par level.

2 Collect soiled linen from wards/departments and place it in a designated area.

3. Distribute clean linen to all units/wards/departments and store it in a designated area.

4. Weigh soiled and clean linens and ensure that the correct quantity of clean linens is received from the laundry.

5. Prepare and load clean linen onto a dedicated delivery trolley.

6. Keep a daily record of soiled and clean linen deliveries.

7. Maintain a high level of personnel hygiene by cleaning the trolley daily, weekly, or as directed.
