Chef de Partie Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Oversee the preparation and cooking of dishes
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented in accordance with the cafe’s standard .
  • Manage, train, and guide commis chefs and junior kitchen staff to ensure high standards are met.
  • Monitor stock levels and manage inventory within your section.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of your work area at all times.
  • Work closely with the owners of the cafe to develop new dishes and improve existing recipes.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Assist in menu planning and the preparation of specials.
  • Help with opening and closing procedures of the kitchen.

    Commis Chef Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

    • Assist the Chef de Partie and senior chefs with food preparation and cooking.
    • Ensure all ingredients and kitchen tools are ready for the day’s service.
    • Follow recipes and kitchen instructions to prepare dishes according to the cafe's standards.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
    • Assist in stocking and inventory control.
    • Ensure proper handling and storage of food items to meet food safety standards.
    • Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations during opening and closing hours.
    • Continuously learn and develop new culinary techniques under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.

You will play an essential role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations and upholding hygiene and safety standards.

As a Commis Chef, you will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure the smooth preparation of food. You will be trained and mentored by senior chefs while helping in all aspects of food production.
