Factory Manager – Tiles Manufacturing

Job Summary The Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire production process in a tile manufacturing plant. This includes ensuring efficient production, maintaining quality standards, managing resources, optimizing costs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and technical knowledge of tile manufacturing processes. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities 1. Production & Operations Management • Oversee daily production activities, ensuring efficiency and adherence to production schedules. • Monitor manufacturing processes, raw material usage, and machinery performance. • Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste. • Ensure optimal utilization of plant capacity while minimizing downtime. 2. Quality Assurance & Control • Maintain high-quality production standards, ensuring compliance with industry norms. • Collaborate with the quality control team to implement quality assurance protocols. • Investigate product defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. 3. Workforce Management • Supervise and coordinate factory staff, including production supervisors, operators, and maintenance teams. • Recruit, train, and mentor employees to enhance skills and productivity. • Ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies. 4. Equipment & Maintenance Management • Ensure all machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition. • Plan preventive maintenance schedules to minimize breakdowns and downtime. • Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and upgrades. 5. Supply Chain & Inventory Management • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure the availability of raw materials. • Monitor stock levels and manage inventory to prevent shortages or excess stock. • Optimize production planning based on market demand and order fulfillment. 6. Health, Safety & Compliance • Implement workplace safety policies and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. • Conduct safety training and risk assessments to prevent accidents. • Ensure adherence to environmental and industry-specific regulations. 7. Cost & Budget Management • Develop and manage the factory budget, controlling operational costs. • Analyze cost reports and take necessary actions to improve profitability. • Optimize energy consumption and raw material usage to reduce production costs. 8. Reporting & Communication • Prepare regular reports on production, quality, and efficiency metrics. • Communicate with senior management regarding factory performance and improvements. • Collaborate with sales, logistics, and other departments to ensure smooth operations. ________________________________________ Key Skills & Qualifications • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related field. • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years in manufacturing, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role in the tiles or ceramics industry. • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of tile manufacturing processes, kilns, glazing, and pressing technologies. • Leadership & People Management: Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage large teams. • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze production issues and implement solutions efficiently. • Financial Acumen: Understanding of cost control, budgeting, and financial planning. • Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and industry standards. • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination across departments.
