Job Summary: The Construction Purchasing Executive will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects. The role involves ensuring timely delivery, cost-efficiency, and compliance with project specifications and company standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Procurement and Sourcing: • Identify and evaluate suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure the best deals without compromising quality. • Ensure materials meet project specifications and standards. 2. Vendor Management: • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. • Monitor vendor performance to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance. • Resolve disputes and address any delays or issues promptly. 3. Budget and Cost Control: • Manage purchasing budgets for construction projects. • Identify cost-saving opportunities without impacting project timelines or quality. • Provide regular reports on procurement expenses and savings achieved. 4. Inventory and Logistics Coordination: • Work with site managers to track inventory levels and forecast material needs. • Coordinate delivery schedules to ensure seamless construction workflows. 5. Compliance and Documentation: • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations. • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and invoices. 6. Collaboration: • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements. • Support the finance team with payment schedules and vendor invoices. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field. • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing in the construction industry. • Strong negotiation and communication skills. • Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and services. • Proficiency in procurement software and tools. Preferred Skills: • Knowledge of local and international suppliers in the industry. • Understanding of construction contracts, including payment terms and warranties. • Ability to analyze market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities. • Experience working with suppliers in China or other Mandarin-speaking regions. Other Requirements: • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, if necessary.
