Role and Responsibilities Cost Estimation: • Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) projects. • Analyze and evaluate project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and associated costs; Quantity Take-off • Perform quantity take-offs for materials and labour required for MEP installations; • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive quantity assessments; Budgeting and Cost-control • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle; • Monitor and report on cost variations, providing recommendations for cost-saving measures; Tendering and Procurement • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and participate in the procurement process; • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring competitiveness and adherence to project requirements; Contract Administration • Administer and manage contracts related to MEP works, including variations and claims; • Monitor contractual compliance and resolve any disputes that may arise during the project; Value Engineering • Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality; • Work closely with design and construction teams to implement value engineering recommendations; Risk Management • Identify and assess potential risks related to cost and contract issues; • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project success; Cost Reporting • Generate regular cost reports to keep stakeholders informed of project financial status; • Provide analysis and recommendations based on cost reporting data; Collaboration • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders; • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the overall success of the project; Regulatory Compliance • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in MEP construction; • Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and best practices; Ad-Hoc • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work; • Other Ad-hoc duties as assigned by the HOD. Qualifications and Education Requirements • Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying / Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University. • Minimum 3 years of related QS experiences in industrial, commercial or Data Center projects. • Good working knowledge in Mechanical and Electrical. • Organizational skill with attention to detail, adaptable and flexible. • Good communication and facilitation skills. • Ability to work well in a team, independently and demonstrate initiative and commitment.
