Job Summary The Agriculture Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance, health, and development of plants, flowers, and crops specifically within the company’s crop production sites. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, operations management, staff supervision, and ensuring optimal plant growth & sustainability. The Agriculture Manager will play a key role in implementing best horticultural practices, managing budgets, and collaborating with vendors/suppliers to enhance the project’s green spaces. Key Responsibilities 1. Nursery & Farm Management • Develop and execute comprehensive crop and planting strategies, including manpower allocation and cost management. • Design and implement operational policies and procedures, including watering, fertilizing, pruning, and pest control schedules. • Ensure the health and vitality of plants by identifying and addressing issues such as pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies. • Maintain high germination rates by optimizing seed planting processes and managing seed and planting material movement efficiently. • Establish best practices for plant care to ensure high-quality growth and maximum yield. 2. Strategic Planning & Cost Control • Plan crop production schedules in alignment with the project site's theme, and oversee seasonal & display changes are well-maintained. • Oversee inventory management of essential supplies, tools, and equipment to achieve cost-effectiveness and minimal wastage. • To develop budgets, manage costs, and implement financial controls to optimize plant production expenses. 3. Staff Supervision & Training • Lead, mentor, and train a team of production staff on plant care techniques, safety procedures, and operational best practices. • Monitor team performance and provide guidance to improve efficiency and overall productivity. 4. Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination • Build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers, contractors, and service providers for plant operations, materials and maintenance support. • Ensure timely procurement of optimal planting materials and supplies. 5. Compliance & Operational Excellence • Ensure that all operations comply with company policies, environmental standards, and safety regulations. • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive business information, ensuring compliance with privacy policies and regulations. • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency. 6. Sustainability & Educational Initiatives Development: • Plan, implement, and oversee nature-based sustainability projects • Collaborate with external stakeholders (such as environmental organizations, government agencies etc.) to ensure alignment with industry best practices and sustainability standards. • Monitor, assess, and report on the environmental impact and outcomes of sustainability projects. • Design, implement and oversee educational programs, workshops, and events that engage the local community, schools, and visitors on sustainable planting, conservation, and environmental practices. • Develop curriculum and educational materials focused on topics like farming, soil health, eco-friendly planting techniques, and sustainability in horticulture.
