Accountant

Job Responsibilities: Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update financial records including transactions, ledgers, and journals. Preparation of Financial Statements: Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Reconciliation of Accounts: Ensure the accuracy of financial data by reconciling bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and other financial records. Tax Compliance: Assist with tax filings, prepare necessary documentation, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws. Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare budgets and forecasts, monitor financial performance, and provide recommendations for cost optimization. Internal Controls and Audits: Assist with internal audits and implement effective internal controls to safeguard financial information and company assets. Financial Analysis and Reporting: Analyze financial data and generate reports to help management with decision-making and strategic planning. General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger system. Payroll and Benefits Management (if applicable): Process payroll, ensure tax and benefit deductions are accurate, and maintain employee payroll records. Ad-hoc Reporting and Analysis: Provide additional financial reports or perform analyses as requested by management. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred). Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related roles. Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficient in accounting software (e.g. SQL). Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and financial modeling. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting with various departments and external stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a problem-solving attitude.
