Website: https://www.salvationarmy.org/malaysia Job Description Community Services In consultation with Corps Leader/Officer, assist in planning and implementing any corps & community programs: Assess the needs of the people in need through the Community outreach programs. Investigate cases that needs help and produce a full investigation report for further action. Carry out one or more action plans for clients after their needs have been identified. Coordinating and distributing of food parcels, clothing and toiletries. Arranging for shelter, health care, getting birth certificates, identity cards, etc. Applying for financial assistance. Planning for long term problems solving like children education, job placement, housing and independency. Providing spiritual guidance and offer prayer support to clients as needed and/or accompany Corps Officer(s) and members to minister to clients. Following-up and reviewing of client's progress and assistance rendered. Work closely with Social Welfare Department, hospitals, clinics and other community organizations to share information and find resources for The Salvation Army clients. Maintain contact with clients periodically to review and explore possible appropriate support to be holistically covering all aspects (social, financial, health and spiritual). Keep all clients’ files and records in a proper manner (written, photograph, etc) Collect donations, funds, fees in regards to community services programmes and maintain proper records. Produce a weekly report on the daily work done on community services. Conduct a community survey as and when necessary to further understand the needs of the community. Contribute ideas on how to improve the services in the community service programmes. Coordinate programmes started by the community outreach. Help to coordinate any emergency relief works and organizing fund-raising when required. Support and participate in The Salvation Army fundraising events eg. Open day event, Jumble sales, Charity sales etc. Attend to all other reasonable requests from the Corps Officer(s). Integration with Corps Share the gospel, give counselling and pray for clients. Attend and encourage clients to participate in the Corps Outreach activities, Sunday meetings and other children/youth/adult programmes. Assist in the Corps activities eg. (as and when required) Joy Hour (Kindergarten) Conduct Prayer Meeting Share Bible message in Refugees Help Centre. Qualifications Diploma or SPM holders Other Information Competencies People-oriented, able to work independently, and multi-tasking. Meticulous and analytical with good interpersonal and prosess good communication skills. Good documentation and IT skills, preferably good knowledge of MS Office.
