ASSISTANT MANAGER
CORPORATE STRATEGY AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives in collaboration with operating companies to drive business growth and profitability in alignment with the Group's corporate strategy.
- Conduct scenario planning, feasibility studies, and business model evaluations to identify and assess growth opportunities and diversification strategies.
- Lead or support the execution of strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and disposals, ensuring alignment with the Group's objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Perform financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence to evaluate investment opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations for capital allocation and strategic investments.
- Analyze market trends, industry dynamics, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities and risks, providing actionable insights to senior management.
- Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including subsidiaries, consultants, and industry experts, to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives.
- Manage and deliver key strategic projects and assignments, including the development of the Group Strategic Roadmap, cross-functional initiatives, and high-priority corporate events such as Board Strategic Retreats and CEO Dialogues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning and Business Growth:
- Work with operating companies to develop business strategies that support growth and profitability goals in alignment with the Group’s corporate strategy.
- Assist in the assessment and review of mid-term and long-term performance across various companies within the COMPANY Group.
- Conduct scenario planning, feasibility studies, and business model evaluations to identify new opportunities for growth and diversification.
- Lead or contribute to the formulation of the COMPANY Group Strategic Roadmap through Group Strategic Review processes.
Merger, Acquisitions and Strategic Transactions:
- Lead or participate in the execution of strategic transactions which will include but is not limited to acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures into new businesses, etc.
- Conduct financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence for potential investment opportunities.
- Assess definitive agreements related to strategic transactions, ensuring alignment with the Group’s objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and operational teams to ensure smooth execution of strategic transactions.
Financial Management and Investment Analysis:
- Develop and manage financial models to support investment decisions, including assessing the viability and impact of potential deals and investments, portfolio management, and performance tracking.
- Provide data-driven insights for capital allocation, strategic investments, and corporate financing initiatives.
- Analyze business performance of investee companies and provide recommendations to optimize value creation.
- Monitor and evaluate the financial health of subsidiaries and business units, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
Market and Industry Research:
- Conduct comprehensive market research, industry analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify emerging trends and risks.
- Provide actionable insights to senior management regarding industry transformation, technological advancements, and market shifts.
- Maintain a strategic view of market conditions to proactively identify potential business opportunities and threats.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Develop effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including head office, subsidiaries, associates, and executive leadership.
- Engage with external stakeholders such as investment banks, consultants, and industry experts to stay updated on market dynamics.
- Assist in preparing board papers, presentations, and reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.
Project Management:
- Lead or contribute to the project management of work-streams related to the development of COMPANY Group Strategic Roadmaps and key strategic focus areas via the Group Strategic Review process.
- Manage Project Workstreams related to special assignments and cross-functional projects, ensuring timely delivery and strategic alignment.
- Oversee project timelines, stakeholder coordination, and execution of high-priority initiatives.
- Support the execution of key corporate events such as Board Strategic Retreats, Annual General Meetings, and CEO Dialogues.
Additional Tasks:
- Undertake any other tasks or special assignments as directed by senior management to support the achievement of COMPANY’s strategic goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Economics, Accounting & Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or related fields.
- Proven track record in managing strategic initiatives, investment analysis, and executing corporate M&A transactions.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with financial modeling and valuation.
- Added Advantage: Experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, financial analysis, and executing complex business transactions.

- Ability to engage with senior management, providing insights and recommendations in a clear and effective manner.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM10,500.00 per month
