- Develop strategies to expand market share and increase sales within specific territories or customer segments.
2. Product Knowledge & Promotion
- Have a strong understanding of the technical aspects of the biotechnology products being sold, whether it’s reagents, equipment, or software.
- Demonstrate the value of products to potential clients, highlighting how they address specific needs or problems.
- Provide product demonstrations, training, and technical support to customers.
3. Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to promote repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Address client inquiries and concerns, troubleshooting any product-related issues, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and meetings to establish connections and promote products.
4. Sales Process Management
- Identify and generate leads through research, cold calling, referrals, and attending conferences.
- Deliver persuasive presentations to prospective clients, emphasizing product benefits and ROI.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with customers, ensuring both parties agree on the terms before closing deals.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and lead status using CRM software.
5. Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Predict sales trends and plan inventory or resource allocation to meet market demands.
- Regularly report on sales performance, market feedback, and competitor activities to senior management.
- Share customer feedback with the R&D and product development teams to assist in the refinement of product offerings.
6. Collaboration with Other Departments
- Work with marketing teams to create promotional materials, online content, or campaigns that support the sales efforts.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to stay informed about new product launches and upcoming innovations.
- Ensure compliance with any legal or regulatory guidelines for selling biotechnology products.
7. Contract Management & Compliance
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all sales activities are compliant with regulatory standards in biotechnology (FDA regulations, ISO standards, etc.).
- Contract Management: Handle contract negotiation and documentation for sales agreements, ensuring terms are clearly defined and agreed upon by both parties.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree: Typically, a degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field is essential.
- In-depth understanding of the biotechnology products being sold, such as laboratory equipment, reagents, diagnostic tools, or pharmaceutical solutions.
- Familiarity with biotechnology industry regulations, including FDA guidelines, ISO certifications, and compliance requirements related to the sale of biotech products.
- Proven track record in sales, particularly in B2B (business-to-business) environments. Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare sales is highly preferred.
