  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) is a humanitarian organization dedicated to assisting communities affected by disasters and crises. We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and committed Climate Change Adaptation Officer to join our team in building community resilience against climate change risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement climate change adaptation strategies aligned with MRC's disaster management policies.
  • Conduct climate risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities in high-risk areas.
  • Plan and implement community-based climate adaptation projects.
  • Develop training programs and build capacity for staff, volunteers, and communities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of climate adaptation programs.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and international partners to advance climate adaptation initiatives.
  • Provide technical support in integrating climate adaptation into disaster response plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Geography, Climate Change, Climate Change Adaptation, Sustainability, Disaster Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in climate change adaptation, resilience-building, or environmental sustainability.
  • Knowledge of climate risk assessments and nature-based solutions.
  • Skills in climate data analysis and adaptation planning.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to work in the field and engage in community-based adaptation programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in climate adaptation projects at the community or national level.
  • Knowledge of international frameworks such as the Paris Agreement, Sendai Framework, IPCC reports, and others.
  • Professional certifications in climate adaptation or environmental management.
