Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring cleanliness standards are met, and managing housekeeping staff. This role involves inspecting rooms, training employees, and coordinating with other departments to maintain a high standard of hygiene, comfort, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: Supervision & Staff Management:
- Supervise and coordinate housekeeping staff, including room attendants and public area cleaners.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure timely completion of room cleaning and public area maintenance.
- Train and mentor housekeeping staff on cleanliness standards, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to improve efficiency and service quality.
Quality Control & Inspections:
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
- Address any deficiencies or guest complaints promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Inventory & Supplies Management:
- Monitor and manage housekeeping supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to order cleaning products, linens, and other necessary items.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Coordination with Other Departments:
- Work closely with the front office to manage room status updates and special requests.
- Communicate with maintenance teams to report and resolve any repair or maintenance issues.
- Assist in planning housekeeping schedules based on occupancy and special events.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain housekeeping records, including cleaning schedules, staff attendance, and inventory logs.
- Assist in preparing reports on housekeeping operations and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
