Our Role
Graymont is seeking a highly organized and self-directed individual to fill the position of Document Control (DC) Officer for the Engineering group. Under the supervision of the DC Supervisor, the DC Officer will be working as the main liaison for all formal engineering documentation movement and management, the DC Officer will perform all daily duties as required for a project by:
Key Focus Areas The Role Will Include:
- Managing incoming requests for project documentation related tasks
- Working with the project manager to establish the distribution and roles on a project
- Managing the sign out and sign in of documents.
- Assigning document numbers.
- Managing documentation transactions between engineering consultants, manufacturers and contractors.
- Assisting project team with documentation concerns
- Publishing internal documentation to project and performing quality control and deficiency resolution.
- Performing additional functions relating to the engineering document management system, as required.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes and qualifications:
- Certificate or associates degree in document management.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with managing engineering documentation and drawings.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical subjects.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, detail-oriented and dependable.
- Good problem-solving skills, demonstrating good judgment in identifying methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Ability to proactively spot and correct data quality issues which can potentially impact manufacturing and suppliers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated and a self-starter
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, both in English and French.
