RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and evaluates manufacturing processes by studying and understanding product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with customers.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assists in the development of manufacturing work flow, line layouts, or floor plans.
- Create detailed, efficient work instructions and technical documentation to support manufacturing of products.
- Documents procedures and ensures standard work is being followed.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for preventing waste and inefficiency during production.
- Design and develop robust manufacturing concepts to simplify and improve processes and ensure best practices.
- Develops, prepares, and/or maintains documentation pertaining to manufacturing processes, systems operation, product development, and other technical processes.
- Supports quality initiatives and work with team to develop the necessary poke yokes to improve quality.
- Creates new documentation or updates existing documentation to accurately reflect changes in a product or process.
- Tracks process parameters and ensures standard work is up to date and being followed.
- Solve existing manufacturing problems.
- Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insights and direction.
- Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Alongside the creative team, design and develop new products and product mock-ups
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Previous capital equipment manufacturing or contract manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Ability to understand Bill of Material (BOM) and BOM structures.
- Ability to understand Engineering Change Orders (ECO) or Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using CAD or CAM software.
- Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process balancing.
- Ability to collaborate with program managers, manufacturing leads, customers, and functional leads, and to provide daily direction and guidance to junior associates.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated skill in solving highly technical problems.
- Strong attention to details.
- Advanced knowledge of production machinery and processes such as machining, fabrication, secondary processing, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.· Ability to lead and work with minimal supervision and takes initiative.
