Position Overview:
The Quality Control Lab Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring that all food and beverage products meet our rigorous quality and safety standards. This individual will support the Quality Control team in conducting inspections, tests, and audits to uphold our commitment to delivering superior FnB offerings and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
You are required to perform these job functions:
- Conduct routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Perform chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses as required.
- Ensure all tests are conducted according to SOPs, Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), and regulatory guidelines.
- Record, analyze, and report test results accurately in lab logs and electronic systems.
- Ensure timely communication of any out-of-specification results to supervisors.
- Maintain proper documentation of test data in compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, FDA).
- Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Troubleshoot minor issues with lab equipment and escalate major issues as necessary.
- Ensure all equipment is in compliance with calibration and validation schedules.
- Assist in the preparation and review of QC documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and batch records.
- Participate in internal audits and support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) implementation.
- Monitor and enforce laboratory safety protocols.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials according to safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or any related field in laboratory.
- Previous experience in the food and beverage industry, particularly in quality control or food safety roles, is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of food safety principles, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
