About the role

Join our dynamic team as an Infrastructure Automation Engineer at HCL Technologies Malaysia SDN BHD. In this full-time position based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a crucial role in driving the automation of our IT infrastructure, ensuring efficient and reliable operations to support the company's strategic objectives.

What you'll be doing

  • Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform, Chef, and Ansible.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices to ensure scalable and efficient deployments.
  • Manage and optimize configuration management processes to maintain system consistency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, cloud, and security teams to streamline build and deployment pipelines.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines integrating infrastructure automation tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve build and deployment issues related to infrastructure components.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of infrastructure environments.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, identifying areas for improvement and automation.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, including deployment procedures and automation scripts.
  • Work closely with developers, architects, and operations teams to support business objectives.
  • Provide L3-level support for infrastructure-related issues and incidents.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends in Infrastructure as Code, cloud automation, and DevOps practices.
  • Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and mentor junior engineers on automation and infrastructure best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to ITIL-based change, incident, and problem management processes.

What we're looking for
