Job Summary:

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that all supplied components and materials meet the required quality standards in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment. This role involves supplier evaluation, audits, quality improvement initiatives, and collaboration with suppliers to resolve quality issues, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:Supplier Quality Management:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality standards and requirements.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, or other relevant standards.
  • Work closely with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure defect reduction.
  • Develop and manage Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR) and follow up on corrective actions.

Quality Assurance & Control:

  • Define and implement incoming inspection plans and quality criteria for supplier materials.
  • Work with internal teams to resolve quality issues related to supplier components.
  • Monitor and analyze supplier performance through key quality metrics (PPM, NCR, DPPM, etc.).
  • Participate in Failure Analysis (FA) and implement corrective actions with suppliers.

Process Improvement & Risk Management:

  • Lead supplier improvement projects to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
  • Utilize problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis to drive quality improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, and production) to enhance supplier quality performance.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier quality and supply chain disruptions.

Regulatory & Compliance:

  • Ensure supplier compliance with customer specifications and industry regulations.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by verifying supplier readiness and qualification.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering within an EMS or electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IPC standards, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with supplier audits, PPAP, APQP, and FAI processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with proficiency in 8D, DMAIC, or similar methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, or other quality management systems.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for supplier interactions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3,800.00 - RM4,800.00 per month

  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental Pay:

  • Performance bonus
