Electrical Project Engineer

1. Electrical System Design and Planning  Develop detailed electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems for the project.  Prepare electrical schematics, load calculations, and system integration plans.  Work with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, instrumentation) to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems with other project components. 2. Project Coordination  Manage the day-to-day operations of electrical installations and ensure that electrical work is completed on time and within budget.  Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.  Monitor progress of electrical installation works and resolve any issues that arise during construction. 3. Installation, Testing, and Commissioning  Oversee the installation of electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, MCCs (Motor Control Centers), and distribution panels.  Ensure that all electrical systems are tested, inspected, and commissioned as per industry standards and project specifications.  Supervise electrical teams during commissioning and conduct testing to ensure proper functionality of electrical systems. 4. Compliance with Safety and Standards  Ensure that all electrical installations comply with local and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., MS, IEC, NEC).  Enforce safety protocols and ensure all electrical works are performed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.  Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and regular site inspections to ensure a safe working environment. 5. Project Documentation  Prepare and maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including electrical drawings, schematics, equipment specifications, and installation manuals.  Develop and submit regular progress reports, including updates on electrical installations, challenges encountered, and solutions implemented. 5. Cost Estimation and Budget Management  Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for electrical works and ensure that electrical systems are installed within the allocated budget.  Monitor project expenses related to electrical systems and recommend cost-effective solutions without compromising quality. 7. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution  Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases, troubleshooting electrical issues as they arise.  Analyze any faults or failures in electrical systems and implement corrective actions in a timely manner. 8. Vendor and Supplier Management  Coordinate with electrical equipment vendors and suppliers to procure materials and equipment.  Review supplier proposals and ensure that purchased materials meet the project's technical requirements and quality standards. 9. Continuous Improvement and Innovation  Stay current with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and technologies, and recommend improvements to enhance project performance and efficiency.  Implement energy-efficient and sustainable electrical solutions where possible.
