Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Polymer Engineering Specialist to oversee the development, optimization, and application of polymer materials in our plastic recycling, compounding, and manufacturing processes. The candidate will play a key role in enhancing material properties, improving production efficiency, and ensuring product quality in alignment with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Advanced Polymer Research & Development - Conduct in-depth research on polymer formulation, modification, and compounding to enhance material properties such as strength, durability, and recyclability. - Develop high-performance thermoplastics, elastomers, and composite materials for industrial applications. - Explore new polymerization techniques, bioplastics, and sustainable alternatives to reduce environmental impact. - Lead pilot-scale trials and commercial implementation of newly developed polymer materials. 2. Process Engineering & Optimization - Improve and optimize extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, and thermal processing techniques for better efficiency and product quality. - Analyze and refine polymer rheology, viscoelastic behavior, and processing parameters to minimize defects such as warping, shrinkage, or degradation. - Introduce and implement new polymer processing technologies to enhance production capabilities. 3. Recycling & Sustainability Innovation - Develop and enhance recycled polymer processing techniques, including mechanical, chemical, and solvent-based recycling. - Design formulations that incorporate post-consumer and post-industrial recycled plastics while maintaining high-quality standards. - Research and implement depolymerization, pyrolysis, and upcycling technologies to improve the circular economy. - Ensure compliance with global environmental regulations related to plastic production and recycling. 4. Technical Leadership & Collaboration - Provide technical guidance and training to production engineers and operators on polymer processing best practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain departments, to drive innovation and efficiency. - Lead technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies regarding polymer applications and quality standards. - Prepare technical reports, patents, and documentation for new polymer products and processes. 5. Compliance & Regulatory Standards - Stay updated on industry trends, emerging polymer technologies, and regulatory changes affecting global markets. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Plastics Technology, or any related field. - Minimum 5 years of experience in polymer processing, plastic compounding, or materials engineering. - Strong expertise in thermoplastics, elastomers, polymer additives, and recycling technologies. - Proficient in polymer testing, failure analysis, and material characterization techniques. - Familiarity with polymer simulation, extrusion modeling, and analytical tools - Experience in plastic manufacturing, recycling, or related industries is a plus.
