Job Responsibilities • Project Planning and Strategy: o Develop project design strategies tailored to the Malaysian market, taking into account local regulations, client preferences, and project objectives. o Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project scopes, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements. • Team Leadership and Management: o Lead and manage a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture. o Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise to team members, ensuring their professional development and growth. • Engineering Design Oversight: o Oversee the conceptualization, development, and execution of engineering designs for projects in Malaysia, ensuring compliance with Malaysian regulatory requirements and industry standards. o Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and other design documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality. • Local Regulatory Compliance: o Stay updated on Malaysian engineering regulations, codes, and standards applicable to EPCC projects, ensuring full compliance in all design activities. o Liaise with regulatory authorities and obtain necessary permits, approvals, and certifications for project designs as required. • Client Engagement and Relationship Management: o Serve as the primary point of contact for clients in Malaysia, addressing their engineering design-related needs, providing technical guidance, and managing expectations. o Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, seeking opportunities for repeat business and client referrals. • Risk Management and Quality Assurance: o Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with engineering design activities in the Malaysian context, ensuring project deliverables meet quality, safety, and performance standards. o Implement robust quality assurance processes and procedures to monitor and evaluate the accuracy and integrity of design deliverables. • Resource Optimization and Cost Management: o Optimize resource allocation and utilization to maximize efficiency and productivity in engineering design operations, while adhering to project budgets and timelines. o Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to manage project costs and expenditures related to engineering design activities. Eligibility Criteria: • Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g. Electrical, Civil,). • At least 10 years of experience in engineering design, preferably with a focus on EPCC projects in Malaysia or the Southeast Asia region. • Power Line Systems (PLS CADD) Certification. • Hands-on experience in PLS CADD, PLS Tower & PLS Pole • Design knowledge and experience in Slope Protection Plans at hilly terrains using R2 software • Design knowledge and experience in Normal pad and chimney, Pile foundations, Micropile and Caisson for Transmission Line Structures. • Preparing Work Schedules using MS project for Transmission line projects 500kV to 132kV • In-depth knowledge of Malaysian engineering regulations, codes, and standards, with a proven track record of successfully navigating regulatory requirements. • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multicultural teams and stakeholders. • Proficiency in relevant engineering design software and tools, along with a solid understanding of project management principles. • Familiarity with the Malaysian business environment, including cultural norms, business practices, and client expectations.
