STAFF NURSE # SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES Overall Responsibilities 1 To maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and are neatly groomed and attired at all times while at work 2 To maintain good relationship and be able to project the spirit of excellent customer service and positive attitude when representing the hospital. 3 To promote the hospital’s brand name and services internally and externally. 4 To develop a team with high level of competency, efficiency, effectiveness and integrity. 5 To provide assistance and advice to customers whenever is necessary in regards to the hospital’s services. 6 To communicate courteously with customers by telephone, email, letter and face to face. 7 To provide support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs. 8 To observe the Nurses Act 1950 (Act 14) and Nurse Registration Regulation 1985. Key Responsibilities 1 To adhere to the Nursing Department and CMH Specialist hospital’s procedures, policies and standards in executing daily task and keeping up to date with changes. 2 To adhere to nursing schedules which consist of rotating shifts to cover 24-hour patient care. 3 To maintain infection control and prevention practices in the hospital. 4 To solve customers/ patients’ problems and complaints. 5 To interact with customers/ patients and family in a caring and confident manner while maintaining customers/ patients confidentially. 6 To supervise the works carried out by staff from supporting category. 7 To communicate and coordinate with internal departments on all medical appointments and its related matters. 8 To learn about the hospital’s products or services and keep up-to-date with changes. Administrative Duties 1 To provide patient care and ensure smooth work flow. 2 To prepare, monitor and control monthly departmental budget, costing and expenses. 3 To gather, tabulate and analyze feedback, complaints and other survey for products and services improvement. 4 To prepare daily patient census 5 To assist in training and development programme of the hospital. 6 To assist the medical specialists in their daily routine as assigned by the management. 7 To follow-up with constant communication with customers/ patients on matters relating to medical services and to record down the details for references. 8 To handle all medical appointments and confirmation processes when required. 9 To use problem-solving techniques to identify workable solutions within the scope of the role and request assistance appropriately. 10 To ensure the prudent and careful utilization of medical equipment and consumables. 11 To ensure the sufficient level of clinical consumables and other medical inventories. 12 To prioritize work according to the customer/ patient care requirements and other medical needs. 13 To maintain professional conduct, good communication skills, and confidentiality in the care of patients. Require to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team. 14 To be familiar with the acquired Hospital Information System (HIS). 15 To carry out any other job function as directed by Head of Department/Company from time to time X
