Cook/ Tukang Masak/ Hot Station Chef
We are looking for a skilled and efficient Hot Station Cook to join our kitchen team. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking all hot dishes, ensuring that every plate meets our quality standards. Our menu includes Nasi Lemak, Grilled Chicken & Lamb, and Pasta, so experience in both Malaysian and Western cooking techniques is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Hot Station Execution
- Prepare and cook hot dishes according to the café’s signature recipes.
- Manage the grill and sauté stations, ensuring proper timing and doneness.
- Cook and plate grilled chicken, lamb, and pasta dishes consistently.
- Ensure perfect rice texture, sambal balance, and side condiments for Nasi Lemak.
Kitchen Preparation & Efficiency
- Set up and stock the hot station before service.
- Ensure all ingredients are prepped, marinated, and stored correctly.
- Maintain proper portioning and plating for consistency.
- Work efficiently under high-volume conditions while maintaining quality.
Hygiene & Safety
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
- Keep the hot station clean and organized at all times.
- Properly handle kitchen equipment and report any maintenance needs.
Teamwork & Communication
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate with servers to ensure timely order completion.
- Assist in new menu development and improvements.
Requirements
1. Prior experience as a Hot Station Cook, Line Cook, or similar role.
2. Strong understanding of grilling, sautéing, and hot food preparation.
3. Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure.
4. Familiarity with Malaysian and Western cuisine techniques.
5. A keen eye for food presentation and consistency.
6. Commitment to hygiene, safety, and food quality.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,700.00 per month
