The QS Assistant supports the Quantity Surveyor in cost estimation, contract administration, and procurement processes for construction projects. The role involves assisting in cost analysis, preparing documentation, and ensuring project costs align with budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Budgeting:

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Gather quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for cost comparisons.

Tender & Procurement Support:

  • Assist in preparing tender documents, contracts, and bills of quantities (BOQ).
  • Help in evaluating tender submissions and cost proposals.
  • Support procurement activities, including liaising with suppliers and subcontractors.

Contract Administration & Documentation:

  • Maintain and update contract records and project documents.
  • Assist in tracking project variations and preparing claims for progress payments.
  • Support the QS team in preparing reports and documentation for project cost tracking.

Site Measurement & Valuation:

  • Conduct site visits for measurements and valuation of work done.
  • Assist in preparing interim and final valuations for completed work.

Cost Control & Reporting:

  • Monitor project costs and report any discrepancies to the QS team.
  • Assist in preparing cost reports and financial updates for management.

Compliance & Coordination:

  • Ensure compliance with contract specifications and company policies.
  • Liaise with site teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.

Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
  • Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of quantity surveying principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost estimation software.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Other: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
