Job Summary:
The Buyer cum Planner is responsible for managing procurement and production planning activities to ensure smooth operations in a medical device manufacturing environment. This role requires strong supplier management, inventory control, and planning skills to meet production schedules while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Issue purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure on-time supply of raw materials and components.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct periodic supplier performance reviews.
- Ensure all purchased materials comply with regulatory requirements (ISO 13485, FDA, etc.).
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and warehouse teams to ensure production efficiency.
- Optimize material planning to minimize excess inventory and prevent stockouts.
- Manage work orders and adjust schedules based on production constraints or changes in demand.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory control strategies to reduce waste and excess stock.
- Work closely with warehouse teams to ensure proper material storage and handling.
- Analyze cost-saving opportunities through strategic purchasing and supply chain optimization.
- Ensure procurement and planning activities comply with ISO 13485, FDA, and other relevant medical device regulations.
- Maintain accurate procurement and planning records, including purchase orders, supplier agreements, and inventory reports.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement and planning within a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and production planning tools.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis for demand planning.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month

- Monday to Friday
Supplemental Pay:
- 13th month salary
