Primary School Teacher

Reports To: Elementary School Principal School Overview: Mont’Kiara International School (M’KIS) is an IB Continuum School that offers IB programs at all levels, supported by American curriculum standards. Position Summary: The Elementary School Homeroom Teacher is responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment in line with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The role focuses on fostering curiosity and supporting students’ academic and social-emotional development through inquiry-based teaching methods. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Implementation: Plan and deliver lessons using the PYP framework and aligned with the American curriculum. Integrate inquiry-based and concept-driven learning strategies. Foster a classroom environment centered on curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. Use differentiated instruction to support diverse learning styles. Classroom Environment: Create a positive, inclusive, and collaborative classroom culture. Build strong relationships with students, parents, and the school community. Promote and model M’KIS values of respect, integrity, and responsibility. Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues on unit planning, grade-level and school events, collaborative projects and professional development. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and activities. Engage in transdisciplinary planning for cohesive learning experiences. Professional Development & School Engagement: Attend and/or lead professional development focused on IB teaching strategies. Participate in school events, contributing to the community and school culture. Additional Duties All contracted teachers are required to: Supervise at least two after-school sports, clubs, or activities. Assist with school day duties, such as break and lunchtime supervision.
