Job Overview:

The Quality Assurance Application Tester is integral to our client's software development process, ensuring that applications meet rigorous quality standards before deployment. This role involves designing, executing, and maintaining test plans and cases, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that enhance customer experience and business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Test Planning and Design:

  • Develop detailed test plans, strategies, and test cases based on application requirements and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product managers to understand application functionalities and design effective testing strategies.
  • Identify test objectives, scope, and potential risks to ensure comprehensive testing coverage.
  • Define entry and exit criteria for testing phases and ensure alignment with project timelines.

2. Test Execution:

  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate application functionality, performance, and security.
  • Conduct functional, integration, system, and user acceptance testing to ensure applications meet business requirements.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure new code changes do not adversely affect existing application functionalities.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).

3. Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure adherence to established quality assurance processes and standards throughout the application development lifecycle.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance software quality.
  • Advocate for best practices in application development and testing, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

4. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare detailed reports on test activities, including test execution results, defect analysis, and quality metrics.
  • Communicate findings effectively to development teams, project managers, and stakeholders.
  • Document test cases, procedures, and results for future reference and compliance purposes.
  • Maintain accurate records of test activities and outcomes.

5. Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies related to application testing.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of test automation frameworks and tools specific to application testing.
  • Propose improvements to testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to continually enhance testing skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Application Tester or similar role in software application development.
  • Strong understanding of application testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools such as LoadRunner or JMeter.
  • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and environments, such as Jenkins or Bamboo.

Additional Details: -

  • Contract position for 12 months (extendable based on performance)
  • Budget: Up to RM10,000
  • Working Hours: 8.30AM -5.30PM
  • Working location: Menara Allianz, Kuala Lumpur

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
